NCIMC was founded to develop an Integrative Medicine program in association with Northern California Hematology Oncology Medical Group (NCHOC) since 2004 to enhance patient’s quality of life and facilitate healing.  Multidisciplinary resources are utilized to integrate the best in both Eastern and Western medical treatments. The Mission of NCIMC is to increase the availability and acceptance of integrative medicine into traditional Western practice through clinical practice, scientific discourse, and directed research.

Clinical Practice

NCIMC offers traditional Chinese therapies to complement Western treatments for cancer, pain management, and various other chronic conditions.  For example, acupuncture has been proven effective in reducing the side effects of radiation, surgery and chemotherapy.

Partners

NCIMC provides clinical care in association with Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, and internal medicine residency programs in affiliation with UCSF, Alameda County Medical Center. Chinese medicine education and training provided by many accupuncture and Chinese medicine schools.

Our Values

Our program emphasizes wellness and the healing of the whole person above and beyond the treatment of any specific symptom or disease.  We address all aspects of health and wellness to manage symptoms, improve treatment efficacy, increase well-being, and enhance quality of life.  We assist patients and family members to develop a perspective that provides ongoing balance during treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and biotherapy.
